I'm really pleased to have this NEW blanket knitting kit for you made using British wool from West Yorkshire Spinners, a British mill and spinner. Good for the carbon footprint!
This blanket is made with West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab double knit. It is 100% reared sheared and spun in Yorkshire. The technique is known as modular or domino knitting, every square is knitted onto an adjoining square so you have NO sewing together!! By picking up stitches from the neighbouring squares you never have to sew any of them together! You’ll be an expert at picking up by the end! The instructions clearly show how to do this.
This version of the blanket is knitted in stocking stitch. The finished size is approximately 90 cm x 99 cm. Please do check your tension as if its too loose or tight you may use too much yarn and not be able to make the full blanket.
Knit One Kits top tip: Not too sure about picking up stitches make a few squares in scrap yarn and practice first.
