Shipping & Packaging information
My Packaging Story - I am an obsessive recycler and am not keen on excess packaging used to post parcels. So to that end here is more about Knit One Kits packaging.
The grey plastic bags I use are made from recycled plastic and the clear plastic bags I use for some kits are Biodegradable. I also use old cardboard boxes to protect patterns sent with your yarn and because yarn will definitely not break in the post it is only wrapped in unbleached tissue paper.
Many of my orders are bought as gifts and I appreciate that this simpler packing approach may not cut the mustard when it comes to presentation. SO I have recently added the option to have your package Gift Wrapped. You will see this displayed at the check out.
Pick up your own order - If you live in the Leicester area you can select the 'collect from doorstep' option and collect from LE2 Knighton at no cost.
Low cost local delivery - For £1.50 I deliver to LE1, LE2, LE3, LE4, LE5, LE7, LE6 select at checkout.
Normally I post on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, all orders need to be placed by 8.30am on any of those days. You can chose standard 2nd class parcel post (unfortunately I can not accept any liability for lost parcels using this service). If you'd like a tracking number with your delivery select Signed for Royal Mail service,1st or 2nd Class. Depending on your local postal service a 1st class parcel could arrive the next day and second class up to 3 days, please note that this service is not a guaranteed service. Printed patterns are sent by Standard 2nd class.
If you need a quicker and trackable service please select UPS, these are sent out daily at 10am. They are currently delivering 1/2 working days from drop off and provide a more detailed tracking service than the Post Office
I have loaded shipping rates for many countries, but to keep it simple only for parcels up to 499 grams in weight (including packaging).
Having read the problems some other vendors are having post Brexit I have regrettably decided to suspend sales to Europe for the time being. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Using Royal Mail I ship to the following
Zone 1 - Canada & Japan. Zone 2 - Australia and New Zealand. Zone 3 - United States
This link will show which countries are in each Zone
I have covered many countries and in theory can ship anywhere, if your country does not appear then please email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and I can add it and/or give you a price. If you wish to buy goods weighing more than 500g again please email me and I can add the charge on. Please note the Royal Mail Tracked and Signed for Service in not available in all countries. I'm really quick at replying to email queries, check your spam for my response.
Customs declaration - please also note that your order from me may be subject to customs charges by your border customs department, I have no control over this at all. On the CN22 form I will tick the 'Other' box.
If your border customs decide to charge you then you will have to pay I'm very sorry but I can not help you out with this. So please be aware before proceeding with an order.
Top tip: consider having an item sent to your work address however regrettably Knit One Kits can not accept any responsibility for items going astray once they are signed for at your place of work.
