To make this size of blanket I used 10 x 100g (approximately 225m/245yds per 100g) of double knit (using 5 colours). The finished size is approximately 128 cm x 114 cm. But you can make it smaller if you don't have as much scrap yarn. You can buy the blanket kit to make this version - look under the Knitting Kit section of my site.
It is a lovely blanket to make as you work on one square at a time and watch your blanket grown over weeks and months and at the end you'll have no sewing up to do!
Domino or modular knitting is a technique of knitting one piece of knitting in different colours and squares AND with no sewing up involved! By picking up stitches from the neighbouring squares you never have to sew any of them together! You’ll be an expert at picking up too! The instructions explain how to do this.
