Knit your own domino blanket using this blanket pattern.
What is domino knitting?
Domino or modular knitting is a technique of making one piece of knitting in different colours and squares AND with no sewing up needed. By picking up stitches from the neighbouring squares you never have to sew any of them together. You’ll be an expert at picking up too by the end.
The pattern includes detailed step by step guide to making the squares. They are known as a mitred square, by casting off 2 stitches in the middle of the row you create a square. Using scrap yarn try the first 6 squares to get the hang of the technique.
By using multi coloured yarn you can knit each row of squares using the same yarn, no need to change for every different square. Using Sirdar Jewelspun yarn your blanket should measure approximately 82cm x 102cm (as shown in the main picture).
Please note that if you want to use up yarn leftovers ensure they are all the same thickness.
