About the Haworth Tweed Fair Isle Yoke Sweater Knitting Pattern 10690
Create this gorgeous top down knitted sweater with Sirdar Haworth Tweed. It has a crew neck with raglan sleeves for a closer fit. You can use another double knit yarn with a tension of 28 rows x 22 stitches to 10cm. When substituting yarn do take meterage into account as this yarn has a whopping 165m per 50g.
The construction is top down knitting. If this is a new technique to you in simple terms you start off knitting the neck, gradually increasing stitches and working the fair isle design from a chart. You then divide for the sleeves and front and back. The sleeves are knitted in the round on a circular or DPNs then you go back to your stitches on a holder and finish off the front and back in the round. With this technique you have no sewing up to do!
The beautiful tweed-like knitted fabric of this softly rustic merino blend has Sirdars Yorkshire home at heart. The richly nepped shades give a rustic texture to plain knits and add interest to textured stitches. Woollen spun, this yarn is more voluminous and offers greater meterage for beautiful more affordable knits.
I do not stock this yarn at the moment but if the demand is there I can review this, do let me know on knitone247@gmail.com
