About the Hayfield Bonus DK Crew Neck Cardigan Knitting Pattern

Create this elegant cardigan using Sirdar Bonus Double Knit or any double knit yarn with a tension of 28 rows x 22 stitches to 10cm. It has a crew neck with set in sleeves and stitch detail along the side seams. 

The construction of this cardigan has an all in one body piece, the fronts and back are knitted all in one using a circular needle knitting in the flat rather than in the round. The sleeves are created by picking up stitches along the sleeve section of the body and then knitted in the round towards the cuff. The button bands and collar are formed by picking up stitches. So in effect this garment has no sewing together!

Colour shown is Cantaloupe 577. I do not stock this yarn but it is widely available.

• Most garments in this range have no tricky stitches to learn. However in this pattern the sleeves are knitted in the round, use either double pointed needles (DPNs) or circulars. The button band stitches are picked up along the edges and neck and the fronts and back are knitted in one piece using a circular needle. Please note this is not a top down knitting pattern
