About the Sirdar Chunky Cardigan Knitting Pattern 10801

Make this gorgeous sloppy joe cardigan with Sirdar Jewelspun Chunky with Wool. Jewelspun with Wool is an even cosier version of hugely popular Jewelspun Aran, now in a quick-knit chunky weight that is soft and comfortable to wear. This beautiful wool blend mimics popular hand-spun yarns in irresistible jewel-like shades.

The fronts and back are all knitted in one piece up to the arm pits - so that means less sewing up!

Skill level for the Jewelspun Chunky Cardigan Knitting Pattern

  • Confident beginner/intermediate
  • There are no side seams to sew up but sewing in the sleeves is required. There are no separate front edge bands which are often a tricky skill for a newish knitter. If you have someone close by to help then I would say this is achievable by a confident beginner. You would also benefit from using circular needles to accommodate all the stitches.

Tools You Will Need

  • 5.5mm circular knitting needles preferably 80cm long
  • 6.5mm knitting needles preferably circular
  • long stitch holder or extra circular needle
  • sewing up needle
  • scissors
  • tape measure
