About the Loveful 100% Recycled Acrylic Sweater Knitting Pattern 10767

Create this stylish batwing sweater using Sirdar Loveful 100% Double Knit or any double knit yarn with a tension of 28 rows x 22 stitches to 10cm. It has a crew neck with a cable detail on the front and a stocking stitch back

The construction is a traditional one, knitting a back and front and sewing them together. I always find mattress stitch the best way to sew up my garments.

Colour shown is Charcoal 112. I do not stock this yarn but it is widely available.

Skill level for the Sirdar Loveful 100% Recycled Acrylic Sweater Knitting Pattern

  • Intermediate
  • You are knitting up from the hem then increasing in 'pattern' for the sleeves then decreasing for the top part of the sleeve. You knit a front and a back then sew the underarm seams and shoulder and top part of the sleeve. With extra stitch increases at the end of each row it can be quite a stretch to keep track of the pattern repeat.

Tools You Will Need

  • 3.25mm knitting needles, if you've not tried them before use circular needles (on the flat) it spreads the stitches out and makes knitting easier. But you can use straight needles if you prefer.
  • 4mm knitting needles
  • stitch holder
  • cable needle
  • sewing up needle
  • scissors
  • tape measure
